BMW R nineT motorcycle: mythical roadster

In 2014, BMW presented its new roadster model: the BMW R nineT motorcycle. Pronounced "ninety", it celebrates the 90th anniversary of the BMW Motorrad brand. Powered by a traditional 1170 cc “boxer” flat-twin engine, it perfectly incorporates all the values of almost a centenary of BMW.

The BMW R nineT in brief

To celebrate a historic moment for the brand, but also to celebrate its know-how, BMW Motorrad has designed a motorcycle reduced to the essentials, yet with a strong character. Purified as possible, the BMW R nineT is then defined as a motorcycle of classic inspiration.

The enthusiast model

This motorcycle condenses all the passion and innovation emulated for more than 90 years in the creation of BMW machines. You will appreciate its top-of-the-range materials and its neat finishes down to the smallest detail, like all bikes from the BMW brand. It is available in 4 colors currently, to delight all tastes of bikers, while maintaining this classic purity:

• Black Storm Metallic, a reminder of the origins of the history of BMW Motorrad;
• Night black uni matt/Aluminium matt Option 719, the red emphasizing the sportiness of the bike;
• Aluminum Option 719, always for a sleek and clean design;
• Chrome classic, a limited edition model.

But it is above all its emblematic boxer engine that gives this bike its charm. Its vibrations and sound will carry you with even more power on the asphalt. You will also appreciate its improved torque curve and exceptional performance. This "boxer" architecture is a true legacy of the BMW decades. It thus retains this legendary assembly, in the longitudinal direction with the transmission still remaining by cardan.

A new 2023 edition

Because it is one of the flagship models of the German brand, a new 2023 version is coming out this year. Initiator of the neo-retro range, the R NineT has evolved in small steps over the years. However, it still retains its design and its spirit so dear to its public.

The 2023 edition then incorporates a few slight changes: adaptation to the new boxer standards, 109 horsepower with, however, improved performance, in particular intermediate values, implementation of Rain and Road mappings as standard, LED headlights, etc. Several new equipment will be available for this 2023 R NineT version, we will introduce you to them at the end of the article.

R nineT Luggage Packs and Kits
